CLD's 31st INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE - DALLAS, TX.
Dr. Dan Reschly was the keynote speaker at CLD's 31st International conference in Dallas, Texas. His topic, "Response to Intervention: Overcoming Barriers to Success" emphasized a component of RTI that is essential for ensuring student success, Data Collection. His presentation was laced with practical stories related to RTI, and was supported with data from an array of research. Dr. Resschly is willing to share his powerpoints presentation. The Response to Intervention Teaching Learning Connections is a special project funded by the State of Florida, Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional and Student Services (BEESS), through federal assistance under IDEA, Part B. This special project is designed to collaboratively identify, disseminate, and facilitate high fidelity implementation of current and emerging research-based instructional practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, especially in early literacy, adolescent literacy, and mathematics, within the framework of RTI. ANNOUNCING NRCLD:
A national research center, a joint project of researchers at Vanderbilt University and the University
of Kansas, has been established to address the complex array of issues facing the learning disabilities field. The National Research
Center on Learning Disabilities (NRCLD) received a five-year, $3.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special
Education Programs. Co-directors of the new center are Dan Reschly, chair of the Department of Special Education at Peabody College,
Vanderbilt; Doug Fuchs, special education professor at Peabody College; and Donald D. Deshler, director of the Center for Research on
